A Special Form of Chondroma of the Lung

چکیده
Tumors composed of cartilage occur in the substance of the lung but are infrequent. They are much rarer than the chondromata of the bronchi and still less frequent than malignant tumors of the bronchi or the lungs. A number of cases have been reported, all in adults. The type of tumor about to be described is of a somewhat different nature. It is characterized by the presence of epithelial in addition to cartilaginous elements. It was not possible to find analogous tumors described in the literature-with perhaps the exception of a case reported by Hart as follows:

Giant Chondroma of Falx: A Case Report
Chondromas are benign tumors that may be found in many parts of the body. Among intracranial neoplasms, tumors of cartilaginous origin are rare. It has been shown that most of these tumors arise from the skull base. Their occurrence in other parts of the intracranial cavity is unusual. Chondroma of falx is a rare neoplasm. In this report we introduce a case of falcine chondroma arose from front...
متن کاملLung abscess complicating chondromas in Carney's syndrome.
Carney's syndrome consists of a combination of three rare tumours: gastric leiomyosarcoma, pulmonary chondroma and catecholamine-secreting paraganglioma. We describe a young woman with Carney's syndrome, who developed a lung abscess, due to obstruction of a bronchus by a chondroma, 11 yrs after having had a partial gastrectomy for a leiomyosarcoma.
متن کاملCase report of chondroma in a grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)
The grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) is a herbivorous, freshwater fish species of the family Cyprinidae, and the only species of the genus Ctenopharyngodon. Neoplasms in fishes are generally less aggressive than neoplasms in mammals and are most commonly discrete, focal and benign neoplasms. A 3-year-old grass carp with a big mass on the vertebrae was referred to the clinic...

متن کاملA very rare case of metachronous multicentric giant cell tumor of bone with benign lung metastasis in form of a very large mass lesion
Giant cell tumour (GCT) is a benign, locally aggressive tumour of the bone that accounts for 5% of primary bone tumours and 21% of benign bone tumours. This tumour more commonly presents as a single (solitary) lesion; however, it may appear with multiple (multicentric) lesions in less than 1% of the cases. According to the literature, 1-9% of solitary GCTs metastasizes to the lung, more commonl...
